Thanks for the seed! The first time I read about latitude I immediately thought "Not for me!" I can't imagine why anyone would want their daily wanderings to be available to their friends, it seems very odd to me.
Just a hint: always comment on your seeds and articles so that the comment tracker can pick them up and present them to your friends.

Its useful for my wife and I so that we can coordinate if we can eat lunch together. She is a salesperson and isn't anywhere near me most days; but every once in a while we find ourselves within 20 minutes of each other and we can get together for a meal.
It's also pretty filterable. For instance my friends only see what City I'm in but my wife can see fairly close to where I'm at. Nobody else can see me at all.
I imagine it might also be useful if you're traveling and you see some of your friends happen to be in the same city; then you could coordinate getting together while on the road.
As far as the seeded article goes: It is funny that PI slams Google for all the perceived privacy problems but doesn't offer any tangible solutions or even mediocre recommendations.

Ok, you have some cool uses there, I'll admit. I still don't feel the need, but I can see how some might.

even with my uses I barely have the need :O) but, then again, my social network is pretty small.
